Jeffery Duncan Henderson

Jeffery Duncan Henderson is the Founder and CEO of Youth Sports University which was birthed in December 2010.  Since 2011, YSU has trained 1,000'a of student-athletes in the area of college planning, recruitment, sports management, personal finance, career readiness, and life preparation. 

Moreover, since 2016 YSU has served over 10,000 youth, educated over 7,000 medical doctors on Athletics Concussions, empowered over 2,000 adults, and helped feed over.2,000 homeless individuals, including 200 youth between 18 - 21 years old at the Covenant House Georgia.

As an event planner, CEO Henderson has helped several non-profit organizations (combined) raise over $500,000.  He also helped a youth non-profit organization secure two Upward Bound Federal Grants totaling $3.6 million and helped Mainstreet Community Services Association in DeKalb County secure a $15,000 KaBoom Matching Grant to build a playground.  

Founder Henderson comes from a sports family who played street sports and organized sports.  Both his dad and mom along with his other family members played street sports; however, he had two uncles and one aunt who were sprinters in track and field in middle school and high school.  He also has one cousin who played basketball at the collegiate level.

His youngest and only brother played basketball in middle school and high school.  He also enjoyed street football and baseball. His brother's children participated in athletics at the high school level.  His daughter played girls basketball and was on the cheerleading team.  His son played basketball and was a scholar-athlete.

One of CEO greatest accolades in life involved both of his daughters participating in DI collegiate sports.  His oldest daughter was heavily recruited nationwide as a  track athlete (signed with Georgia Tech) and his youngest daughter was a walk-on as a basketball player for the University of Georgia.

His oldest graduated from Georgia Tech in 2018 (majored in Business Administration and Information Technology) as a scholar-athlete and was a sprinter (60m, 100m, 200m, and 400m relay) on the track and field team.  She was a 3-time ACC academic honor roll student and was the recipient of the Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship Award.  While in middle school, she was once ranked number one in the nation in the 100m and 200m.  While in middle school, she also represented the D.C. Express Track and Field Club in the USATF Junior Olympics in Sacremento and Houston.

His youngest daughter is a scholar-athlete on the University of Georgia Women's Basketball Team and as a junior is a 2-time academic honor roll student. She is majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor degree in Business Administration.  While in middle school she was an all-star track and field hurler and represented the D.C. Express Track and Field Club in the USATF Junior Olympics in Sacramento.

As to CEO Henderson, he was a multi scholar-athlete whereby he was a boxer, sprinter in track and field (100m and 400m relay), cross country runner, quarterback in football, high school basketball summer camp coach-player, played Junior and Varsity Boys Basketball at St. Paul Central High School, and participated in intramural basketball at Clark Atlanta University (formerly Clark College).

After college, he was his youngest daughter's first basketball coach, started a youth track and field club, and started a girl's high school basketball team at the Wade Walker Family YMCA in DeKalb County.

Coach Henderson is a Global Motivational Speaker, Life Coach, and Trainer and he has over 40 years of experience in the Youth Development sector as a speaker focusing on sports recruitment, sports education and management, leadership development, career readiness, personal finance, college planning, entrepreneurship, and life preparation.
Since the age of 15, he has been an advocate for youth when he first spoke at Harvard University at the National Council of State Committees for Youth Helping Youth.

While attending St. Paul Central High School, MN, he was involved in following youth programs:

  • All City Student Council (President) - Burlington Northern Law Association Burlington Northern Law Association (President) Mayor's Youth Commission, School Board Youth Advisory Committee, and Senate Aide.  

While attending Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA), he was President of Phi Beta Lambda (College Business Association).and a member of the Cinema Club.

Moreover, during his adult years, he has been involved in the following: Business Session Leader/Speaker and Youth Coach/Judge for Operation Hope, Advisor/Mentor for Cross Keys High School and Towers High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Business Coach and Judge for Junior Achievement, speaker for Communities in Schools, speaker for Young Wall-Street Summer Program at Georgia Tech, speaker and youth mentor for Community Teen Coalition, speaker Georgia Trio and Georgia State University Upward Bound Programs, youth mentor for Big Brother/Big Sisters, youth mentor for Georgia Youth Challenge - Fort Stewart, Loan Executive for the United Way, United Way Fundraiser Coordinator, United Way Community Steering and Advisory Committee Member, youth leader for various non-profit organizations, President of Grace Heritage Christian Academy PTA, Vice President of the Chamblee Charter High School PTSA, and was certified as an Official for USATF.

One of CEO Henderson's biggest accomplishment as President of the Chamblee Charter High School Girls Track and Field Team was sphere-heading under his leadership the start-up of their Booster Club whereby over $10,000 was raised in less than 4 months. His other major accomplishments include being an event planner and out of state (trip to Washington D. C.) field trip organizer for New Birth Christian Academy, organizing upscale sports awards banquets for the Grayson Youth Football Team, Georgia National Youth Football Team Chamblee Charter Middle School Boys and Girls Track and Field Team, Chamblee Charter High School Girls Track and Field Team, the Chamblee Charter High School Girls Basketball Team, and D. C. Express Track Club along with planning two college fairs and college tours.
